Day 1: Feels like summer!
I decided to make my official observing spot be underneath a tree on the Hodson/Evans lawn. This location will give me the chance to observe many different organisms in their natural habitat where trees, grass, sand, and the sky are in perfect view.
"As
I look into the grass, I see it is filled with many little particles of leaves,
sticks, and dry grass. In this
particular spot there are several large ants crawling everywhere. As a matter of fact they keep crawling
all over me as well as these teeny tiny bright yellow bugs that almost look
like little grasshoppers. On any
other day, I would just smash them, but I figure that would not be an
appropriate action for a nature observation."
